In the 1920s, Dr. Edward Bach of England was looking for a way to produce true healing for his patients. He did not like giving them artificial drugs and he believed that physical illness originated in mental, emotional and spiritual imbalances. If he could find a way to rebalance these subtle aspects of his patients, he could help them truly heal.
Dr. Bach was a sensitive person and was able to determine that the energy of flowers at the peak of their bloom had a resonance with the human energy system and would raise the human energy field up to their perfect level. Flowers and nature are perfect; humans interfere with their perfection by habits of thinking and acting. Dr. Bach experimented with the dew on the flowers at first and eventually developed a way to capture this energy in a bottled liquid for use at any time.
Wow. Pretty wild, huh? To summarize – The energy of flowers has a healing effect on humans. Have you ever spent time in a garden, a nursery, or outdoors, and felt uplifted, inspired and refreshed? If so, you probably were getting a dose of flower remedy energy directly – no bottle needed. Of course, not many of us can browse the land at the exact time of flowering of a specific flower to absorb its healing properties. Having that energy available at any time in the form of preserved remedies is extremely valuable.
Now, the idea that just the energy of flower can help us in any way is a stretch for some people. Science has not yet figured out a way to measure this energy. How do we know that these remedies actually work? How do we know there is not a placebo effect operating in those cases where it appears to be helping? At least in two ways.
First – there is a ton of anecdotal evidence of flower remedies helping, not only adults, but also children, babies, pets and plants.
Second – I have been using these remedies for over thirty years. I have given them to a great many clients in my counseling practice, as well as to family and friends. The specific results that have been reported back to me are numerous enough to make me a total believer in their value. They work.
Each flower has a specific correspondence to one of our human qualities.
Flower Remedies are 100% safe for children, pets, babies, plants and adults.
Is There A Difference Between Flower Remedies and Flower Essences?
No, they are the same. For many decades, Bach Flower Remedies were the only remedies of this kind. But in the 1970's, in California, Richard Katz and Patricia Kaminski developed a new set of remedies based on the same preparation principles of Dr. Bach. They called their preparations California Flower Essences. Different flower species, same healing properties.
I use both Bach remedies and California essences in my work and thus have over a hundred flowers on hand to help any issue that may be presented to me in a session.
